Siobhan Shearer, or Chevie as we knew her, lost her fight against cancer on her 10th birthday 2007.
Chevie fought this illness with more courage and dignity than I have ever seen in anyone. She never
complained about the pain she was in, or the restrictions her treatment put upon her. Chevie always
had a smile on her face, and hated anyone being sad. She could not bear to see anyone cry, and would
tell anyone off who was sad around her.
Chevie lived in Aberdeen, Scotland, with her parents Alex and Leeanne, and her wee brother Morgan.
Chevie and Morgan were best friends as well as brother and sister, and losing Chevie has probably
affected Morgie more than any of us. He misses her terribly, as do we all.
Chevie, Morgan and I would watch SpongeBob Squarepants together for hours, and as a result,
SpongeBob has become a very big part of my life. He and Patrick Star bring me so much pleasure, as
they bring back many happy memories of the laughter we three shared whilst watching the shows.
I first met Chevie and her family when her illness was mentioned on a bikers chat forum I am a
member of. My friend Gary and I decided to hold a raffle and book a band in a pub to raise funds for
a holiday in Florida that the family were hoping to go on.
The 'pub' idea esculated into a weekend rally, but sadly Chevie never got to go on her holiday.
Before she passed away, Chevie asked me to make a promise that I would help other children and thier
families who were going through what Chevie and her family were suffering. In honour of Siobhan,
Gary and I set up a fundraising project to do just that.
In Chevie's memory, we now hold all kinds of fundraising events, and since Chevie passed in March
2007, the Siobhanathon project has raised nearly £5000, and has helped 3 more children to get thier
dream.

There is not a day goes by when I do not think of Chevie, and feel sad that she is no longer here. I
miss her smile, her great sense of humour and her hugs.
Siobhan in my inspiration, my sunshine and my happiest thought.
Whenever I am down, feel angry or sad, I think of Chevie. Her strength and courage has pulled me
through so much, and I feel honoured to have known such a beautiful person, and I feel cheated that
she was taken far too soon.
I also thank Chevie for the chance to meet her family, who have become very good and dear friends of
mine.
Rest in peace sweet Siobhan.

Hiya chum well it's our last w/end up here, as you know mum's home next w/end. But i will get mum to light candles for the days that i'm not up here, but you know i think about you every day and miss you loads. But we will be up to see you at the back of dinner and give your housie a little clean. It seems to be a fine day the day, that's my piece and quiet gone now and no more long lies for me now as the twins are up early.

Hiya chum it's auntie kat here just spoke to your mummy on the phone this is a message from her, daddy and morgy. Hiya babe missing you loads and loads so is daddy and morgy, can't wait till we get home to go to your housie even though we know your with us here in America. Daddy is working hard in his new job, i think their going away to the zoo today and Morgan is hoping they'll have pandas. Everyone has a suntan as it's really hot, we'll be home next w/end though.

Hiya chum back up at mum's, as it's the last w/end of me and Kat staying here as their home next w/end. We think about you every day and miss you so so so much that goes without saying. Anyway was up at your housie on Wednesday and guess what was playing as we pulled in about DIDO WHITE FLAG how cool was that. Hope your behaving yourself lol (i know you are). I'm full of the cold just now but everyone's fine, but other than that not alot happeining. Well Tinker is being a little tinker because he got up on the unit a knocked down your bratz dolls. He's in out all the time , Jerry just being jerry he's good , Tom was out till half past 4 the other night partying.
We're going home today but be up next w/end and be up to see you during the week .

Missing you loads
Hiya chummy missing you heaps and heaps, not much happening missing mum and Morgan loads. The twins and Kaysha are doing fine, Morg's got a nick name for the twins, he calls them the 'blues brother's'.
Auntie Kat has got hairdressing as a subject at school, and auntie Jack has got an appoinment at college for hairdressing, hope auntie Jack get's a place in it as, James said he would help them with the written work.
Auntie Lou is away to Turriff for a week with Kaysha.

That's it honey, We're all packed & waiting for Granda as you well know... He'll be here very soon even though the flight's not till 6-15am... I would'nt mind but it's only the back of 4!!!!

Hiya sweetie, It's Mummy... Where do I start? Not sure as I have something very important to tell you? And I hope your ok with it?
So here goes.... Mum & Morgan are going over to Texas, America to see Dad... As we'er all missing each other soooo much & Dad said that he'd like us to go across.... Chev I feel so bad, As I'm leaving your housie for a long time..... but between Nana & Granda I'm pritty sure that they'll look after it for you.. There's no point in me saying that I'm leaving you behind because I know for a fact you'll be with us in spirit, my heart & thoughs, just like when we went to Spain, the only other thing that's bothering me is that I wont manage to light you a candle or do a tribute... But Nana & Kat have promised that when there up at the weekend they will do both...
I am looking forward to going over to see Dad alot, it feels like ages since we'v seen him, I just wish that when I got there you was there with him & that you were just on a holiday too... The sad thing is that your not going to be there to see, but I know that you will be there with us in our hearts & I will be thinking of you just as much there as I do here at home, so, I know that dont make it better but that's all we can do, is it chum?
I'v packed our bags, or just about, I have a few things to put in the case? Dad's asked for a boiler suit & I need to put your nighty in too, as that's the one under my pillow, so I know that you are with me one way or another...
I will be on the computer as soon as I get back in Aberdeen, We'er away for 3 week's it sounds a long time but I'm pritty sure that they will pass quite quick, So please dont worry coz I will light you a candle & do a tribute for you as soon as I get back....

Hello beautiful!! I hope you are having fun up there with all the angels, I'm sure you are because you for always so happy xx We're all ok here, workin away as usual!! Always seem to have something to do...busy...busy!! I'm so sorry that i hav'nt been up to your housie for the past few weeks, but i've still been thinking about you all time, because we all miss you so much. Eilean was going to take me up yesterday, but coz i'm such a silly billy, i forgot to take the pressies i've bought you...ooops!! So she is taking me up next week, i hope you like what i've got you!! Cairo had his school show the other week, did'nt find out till the morning it was on because the little tattie never told me lol, he was a owl who was scared of the dark and he was really good. Morgan had his show the other night too, Nana said he was soooo good, but you would've seen him anyway xx If i'd known, i would've gone to see him because he worked so hard for it!! We all love you so much and wish you were here with us, so that we could go to the park and have fun xx Cairo talks about you too and it makes me sad because i think sometimes we forget that he misses you too, so i just tell him funny stories about when you used to go mental when you were young when we called you Freda and how Uncle Wayney used to tease you and call your ears cappi del monti's!! I'm glad i can still tell him about funny things, so that he remembers the good stuff!! Please know that we all love and miss you very much and that you are always in our thoughts and all the memories will be cherished in our hearts forever!! Well, Chev I did say it was a sad day & I was right 'Granda Jim' has past way... I know he was not our 'granda' but he was just like one... or the one I would have liked for us, If you understand what I mean? Jim was & still is a really nice man not to mention a really funny chap.... He alway's knew just how to make us 'Mum's' laugh up at the school, I know for a fact that he'll be sadly missed up at the school...
If you can hunny look out for him, coz I'm sure he has a few storys to tell you & I think he'll probably look out for you too & i'd like that....
So hunny I hope that your being a good girl? I know that you are coz you were always good for me & I'm not just saying that coz your my girl, you really were a good girl & I know that you'll be just as good up there with the other angels.
Chevie I dont have to tell you that I'm missing you, coz you already know that, but Chevie I'll tell you anyway... I'M MISSING YOU LIKE MAD, EVERY DAY MORE & MORE... There's not a day that goes by that I dont think of you one way or another, coz I do & alway's will till I see you again... & dont say we wont see each other again coz I know for a fact that we will, Jim's away to see his wife, I know that too coz I think if you have lost some one, one way or another & you love them more & more, & you think about them too, your love's so strong that you will meet up, it might take a very long time but you will see them again, So I know for a fact that I love you more & more each day even though your not here to see, your in my heart & thoughs, So Chevie I will see at some point, it might take a wee while but I will be seeing you & I cant wait till that day finaly comes for me to see your lovely smiling face, Chev I love you heaps & think of you each & every day.....
